Disc Golf Go ("we", "us") is a disc golf training app. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to what the app needs to work.
Information we collect
- Account information — the display name, username, and email address you provide when you create an account, and a securely hashed password. You can also play as a guest, in which case we store only an anonymous device identifier.
- Training & gameplay data — lessons you complete, XP and gold earned, streaks, missions, achievements, and progress used to power your profile and leaderboards.
- Location (only when you check in) — if you choose to check in at a course, we use your device's location at that moment to confirm you're at the course. We do not track your location in the background.
- Course reviews & feedback — ratings, reviews, or feedback you submit.
- Usage & device data — basic, non-identifying analytics such as pages viewed, to keep the app reliable.
How we use your information
- To provide the app: your account, training progress, missions, and leaderboards.
- To verify course check-ins when you request them.
- To send account-related email you request (for example, password resets).
- To maintain security and improve reliability and performance.
How your information is shared
We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that operate the app on our behalf:
- Cloud hosting and database providers that store app data securely.
- A content delivery network for images and assets.
- Embedded video: lessons play videos hosted on YouTube; when a video loads, YouTube may receive standard request data under its own privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if required by law.
Data retention & your choices
- You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account) or by emailing us.
- You can decline location access; the app still works, but course check-ins that require it will be unavailable.
Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections and hashed passwords. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Children
Disc Golf Go is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of Disc Golf Go after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
